FCASV to Host Campus Sexual Violence Training

In response to recent federal and media attention regarding sexual assault on campuses, FCASV – the statewide, federally-recognized anti-sexual assault coalition – will hold a one-day training summit for rape crisis center advocates, college administrators, investigators, advocates and counselors titled Sexual Violence on Campus: Response, Advocacy and Adjudication.

Colleges and universities are now required to respond to sexual assault victims in the ways rape crisis centers and coalitions have been doing for years.  FCASV wants Florida’s colleges and universities to succeed where so many other institutions have fallen short, and to provide them the tools they need to set a national standard of response.

On January 22, 2015, FCASV will bring together state responders and nationally renowned expert, Lindy Aldrich, Esq., of the Victim Rights Law Center, to discuss the federal regulations and the realities of sexual assault. The training will be held at Valencia College – West Campus, 1800 South Kirkman Avenue, Orlando, Florida 32811.
