Capitol Press Conference

FCASV sponsored a Sexual Assault Awareness Month press conference at the Florida State Capitol to address the impact of sexual violence on the citizens of Florida and to highlight legislative initiatives. Speakers included Attorney General Bill McCollum, Senator Mike Fasano (R-Port Richey), Representatives Audrey Gibson (D-Jacksonville) and Yolly Roberson (D-Miami), FCASV Executive Director Jennifer Dritt, Refuge House Executive Director Meg Baldwin and sexual assault survivors Yolanda Fairell and Ron Book. Attendees also took a moment to thank the Florida Senate and House for passing resolutions recognizing April 2009 as “Sexual Assault Awareness Month” in Florida.
