Trauma Informed Sexual Assault Investigations Training- Pinellas County

Location: Park Station, Room 101, 5851 Park Blvd., Pinellas Park, FL 33781

Dates & Times: October 9th at 11:00am-2:30pm

                           October 10th at 8:00am-2:00pm

Trauma informed sexual assault investigations are used at law enforcement agencies around the country. Based on the science of how trauma affects the brain and victim behavior, the new interview techniques yield better evidence to hold offenders accountable. Florida agencies using the trauma informed approach also report higher trust in law enforcement and the criminal justice system.

Registration is FREE, but space is limited. Priority registration is given to Pinellas County area responders. Registeration will close on October 4th, 2019.

  • Immediate victim responses to trauma 
  • How trauma affects memory and behavior
  • Trauma informed interview technique 
  • Advanced investigative strategies
  • Drug/alcohol facilitated sexual assault investigation strategies

This training will be conducting into two parts. First training will begin at 11:00am-2:30pm on October 9th and conclude on October 10th from 8:00am-2:00pm. It is not mandatory to attend both training but please be sure to include if you will be participating in both parts of this training.
