Kris graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from FSU in 1980 and received her Master’s in Nursing from the University of Florida with a specialty in Women’s Health/Nurse-Midwifery in 1995. Kris’ professional career includes ten years as a registered nurse working in labor and delivery in Thomasville, Georgia and Tallahassee, Florida; fourteen years as an advanced registered nurse practitioner (APRN) / certified nurse midwife working in a Tallahassee private obstetrical / gynecological practice; and twelve years as a Public Health Administrator in a variety of health programs and policy development and implementation. Kris cannot remember a time that women’s health and social issues were not a passion of hers. When Kris is not at work, she enjoys being out in her yard, reading, traveling with her husband, and spending time with her son.
