Melissa has been in the field of victim services since 2001. She began her career at the Leon County State Attorney’s Office before moving on to the Broward County State Attorney’s Office primarily supporting survivors of domestic and sexual violence. She also worked at the Office of the Attorney General as a victim compensation analyst before serving as the Director of Florida State University’s (FSU) victim advocate program for nearly 10 years. As FSU’s Director, she worked with survivors of all types of crimes. She holds a MSW from Florida State University. Through her work at FCASV, Melissa continues to work with survivors on their civil legal needs under the LAV grant. She also provides technical assistance to Florida advocates and works on PREA issues around the state. Melissa enjoys spending time with her family and training for her next race!
