FCASV wants to engage Florida’s young people in the movement against sexual violence. The Youth Aligned in Prevention (YAP) initiative is an opportunity to elevate the experiences and expertise of Florida youth while also providing young people with professional development.

The 2025 - 2026 YAP Cohort brought together young people from across the state of Florida to collaborate with the Florida Council Against Sexual Violence (FCASV) on the development and distribution of a sexual violence prevention social marketing campaign specific to youth.
The goals of this program also include strengthening economic supports, creating protective environments, and promoting social norms to prevent sexual violence. This initiative is funded by the CDC’s Rape Prevention and Education: Enhancing Capacity for Sexual Violence Prevention Across State and Territory Sexual Assault Coalitions grant.
Members of the YAP cohort are financially compensated as consultants for their work with the initiative and have access to professional development opportunities.

The intention behind the YAP initiative and the YAP About It campaign is to promote and encourage the inclusion of youth and young people into the movement against sexual violence.
A world free of sexual violence isn't possible without engaging young people and upholding the importance of their creativity, energy, and vision.
This campaign features a digital toolkit with tips for youth and young people, caregivers and trusted adults, and community preventionists on how to create a movement where the voices and actions of young people are valued, amplified, and respected. The second half of the toolkit includes activity worksheets, images, and sticker templates to encourage community prevention education.
Along with the digital toolkit, the YAP created a bookmark design and 2 sticker designs.
We hope this campaign helps start conversations in your communities about the prevention of sexual violence and the vital role of young people in making our communities safer.
